Kalley & Torey’s storyboard

As with many of my seniors, I first photographed them playing varsity sports for their high school. It was the same with twin sisters Kalley and Torey. They play field hockey and softball for Grassfield High School.

For their senior session, we went to Norfolk. We shot in and around Nauticus and the Oriental Gardens. It was a warm day, but we had fun and the sisters were great to work with. Using some of their images from their senior session, I created a 20×20 storyboard. You can see a sample below.

Spring will be here before we know it and it’ll be great to get outside again and cover a lot of the varsity sports in the 757 area.

Morgan – Grassfield

Morgan is my first senior from Grassfield. She came with her mom (Luree) on the shoot and they were both great to work with. We had a blast during our sessions.

For the first session, we went to downtown Norfolk. We started under I264, near Harbor Park, then headed to the Oriental Gardens. If you’ve never been there, you should visit. It’s small, but it’s peaceful and very pretty. After getting some great pictures, we lost the light and decided to continue the shoot another day.

A few weeks later, we went to First Landing State Park (Seashore State Park) for the second part of the session. We decided to try a ‘trash the dress’ session with Morgan and her good friend Brittney. It was a lot of fun. So many people stopped their boats to watch our session. I’m sure it must have looked strange to see two girls posing in the water wearing gowns. We captured some really great images using some off camera flash.

I’ve included some pictures from both sessions below and don’t forget to watch the music video. Let me know what you think.

Ryann – Kellam

Ryann, a 2010 senior, is my fourth senior from Kellam. At this point during the school year, I’ve photographed more seniors from Kellam and Kempsville.

We had a lot of fun with Ryann and her mom during our session. We started the day off of Shore Dr, where the old Duck Inn restaurant was located. From there, we headed to Norfolk to shoot at the Oriental Gardens. It was great working with Ryann and we were able to create some fun images using off camera flash.

Check out her sample pictures below and leave a comment with your thoughts about the photos.
