Before I started photographing seniors, I was a sports photographer. I began with team pictures for area recreation leagues and eventually moved on to photographing high schools sports. In fact, I still cover varsity sports for CBS. Along with the action shots, Continue Reading →

Varsity Field Hockey: Green Run vs Kempsville

Before I began photographing high school seniors, I started my photography career by covering sports. I still like to cover a varsity game whenever I have the chance. I currently shoot video and stills for the CBS Sports’ high school site (MaxPreps). I was also fortunate enough to have one of my photos published in sportsillustrated.com last year.

Many of my seniors play field hockey so I’ll try to get to one of their games for some action shots. Here’s a few shots from a recent game between Green Run & Kempsville. Field Hockey on grass, at each school’s field, is a lot different than the fast paced action at the turf. The turf is the U.S. National Training Center. Each week, a few schools have their games there and it is the host to several district, regional and state championship games.

2011 Seniors

Now that all my 2011 seniors have graduated and are on to new and exciting things in their lives, we’re turning our attention to seniors from the Class of 2012. We’ve photographed most of our senior models and they’re now out spreading the word about Dan Trevino Photographer. Our sessions are filling up nicely and we are now booking well into July.

We’d also like to thank everyone for their kind words about us and our senior photography. Our seniors’ music videos show that we have a lot of fun during our senior sessions. In fact, many seniors are now looking forward to Penny’s cookies when they come by for their studio session.

In the next few days, weeks & months, we’ll be highlighting several of our senior models, as well as the rest of our 2012 seniors. It’s going to be a fun & exciting summer. Call, text or leave a comment for information on how you can be part of the Dan Trevino senior family. Our seniors are great!!

Our 2011 seniors will recognize the buttons that are used to identify their bags that contain their prints & other goodies. A few parents ordered additional buttons for their families to wear during graduation. This way everyone can see which senior they are there to support. Keep this in mind for next year 2012 seniors.

Until next time . . .

2011 Kempsville Fashion Show

One of my 2011 seniors invited me to take photos at this year’s Kempsville Fashion Show. I went to my first high school fashion show last fall (Kellam) and I really enjoyed it. I agreed and brought Penny & Tyler with me. My seniors should remember Tyler as my #1 helper. While I took photos, he videotaped the event.

The theme of the show was The Fashion Network. Area stores donated the clothing that was used for the show. The students had a great time modeling the various fashions for the crowd. It was a great show and we had fun. I’ve posted a few photos from the show and included a brief video sample.

Feel free to share the post and leave a comment. If you would like us to cover your school’s next fashion show, just tell us in advance so we can get you on the schedule.
